Datasets of the averaged monthly and yearly values of the magnetic PC, AE, Dst indices and the solar wind parameters used for analysis of reasons of the PC index variation during 23/24 solar cycles

 

Web page http://geophys.aari.ru/PCspaceweatherMEDIAN presents the monthly median values and mean yearly values estimated via the monthly median of the PCN and PCS indices and Ekl field based on the same data set http://pcindex.org , but obtained via median quantities.

“PC-QDC” files

Data written in ASCII format
Files contain:
• the averaged monthly and yearly values of the polar cap magnetic activity PC index counted for 1998-2019 with use of the 1-min PCN and PCS indices presented on website http://pcindex.org
• the averaged monthly and yearly values of magnitude of the quiet daily curve (QDC) served as a level of reference for estimation of magnetic activity at stations Thule and Vostok

The data header is

where:

Year Month - year and month of the averaged data
QDC_N – magnitude of QDC at Thule station
QDC_S – magnitude of QDC at Vostok station
QDCtot = QDC_N + QDC_S
PCN - PC index in the northern hemisphere
PCS - PC index in the southern hemisphere
PC mean - mean quantity as (PCN+PCS)/2
PC winter - index fixed in the winter polar cap
Ekl (mV/m) - solar wind electric field Ekl [Kan and Lee, 1979]

• averaged monthly and yearly values of the AE and Dst indices counted with use of the 1-min data presented on website http://wdc.kugi.kyoto-u.ac.jp/wdc
• averaged monthly and yearly values of the total solar irradiance (TSI) counted from TSI hourly data available from ftp server   ftp://ftp.pmodwrc.ch/pub/data/irradiance/virgo/TSI/virgo_tsi_h_v6_005_1805.dat

“ICME/SIR events” files

Data written in ASCII format
File contains the list of magnetic storms separated into events related to the ICME or SIR drivers by reason of character of the PC index evolution in course of these storms [Troshichev and Sormakov, 2017]
