Web page http://geophys.aari.ru/PCspaceweatherMEAN presents the hourly, daily, monthly and yearly values of the PCN and PCS indices and Ekl field based on the same data set http://pcindex.org , but obtained via mean quantities. The hourly mean PC index was estimated as a hourly sum of the positive minute PC indices divided by 60 minutes, the daily PC index was estimated as a daily sum of the hourly mean PC indices divided by 24 hours; correspondingly the monthly PC index was estimated as a monthly sum of daily PC indices divided by number of days in the current month and the yearly PC index was estimated as a yearly sum of monthly PC indices divided by 12. As for Ekl field, the hourly mean Ekl field was estimated as a mean value of Ekl field for 60 minutes irrespective of sign (plus or minus) of the appropriate PC index.

“PCN, PCS, Ekl” files

Data written in ASCII format

Files contain:

The hourly mean values of the positive PCN and PCS indices for each hour counted for 1998-2019 with use of the positive 1-min PCN and PCS indices presented on website http://pcindex.org

The hourly mean values of the interplanetary electric field Ekl (mV/m) for each hour counted for 1998-2019 with use of the 1-min solar wind parameters taken from the GSFC/SPDF OMNI/Web interface at the website http://omniweb.gsfc.nasa.gov

The averaged daily, monthly and yearly values of mean PCN and PCS indices and Ekl field counted for 1998-2019 with use of the corresponding hourly mean values of PCN and PCS indices and Ekl field

The data headers are

"Time      PCN (mV/m)        PCS (mV/m)      PC mean (mV/m)      Ekl (mV/m)"      where:

PCN - PC index in the northern hemisphere

PCS - PC index in the southern hemisphere

PC mean – (PCN +PCS)/2

Ekl (mV/m) - solar wind electric field Ekl [Kan and Lee, 1979]
